The Bucerias Chalk art Walk
If you are not familiar with the term,  "Madonnari" is Italian for street painter, which originally
referred to an artist who makes pictures of the Madonna from Christian art. These images were the
original style of drawing for street painters, thus the title. An artist can be referred to as a
madonnaro or madonnara. Originated from European artisans dating from the 16th century, who
traveled to create drawings in public places for religious celebratory purposes, street painting (also
known as chalk art) has grown in the last decade to become a world wide phenomenon. Today
thousands of artists work as “madonnari” in all visual genres at festivals and events across the globe.
Simply stated, street painting is a performance based art form involving drawing a fairly large sized
image in chalk pastels on a public street, plaza or thoroughfare.

This year's theme is "
Food of Mexico"
"We still have openings for Mexican artists who wish to participate and welcome them" says Founder
Christy  Beguesse. On Friday January 2
oth We will be hosting over 150 local children to participate
in chalk drawing workshops. If you wish to sponsor a child for a workshop contact us at
TheBuceriasArtWalk@gmail.com for more information.

The Taste of Nayarit
The Taste of Riviera Nayarit will host over 20 restaurants from all over the Bahia de Banderas serving
their specialidades de la casa. "With "tastes" for sale at 10, 20 or 30 pesos, this event is affordable
for everyone", says Beguesse. Proceeds from The Taste of Nayarit benefit Manos de Amor
Orphanage, The BBCC and the Bucerias Chalk Art Walk
